What is executive coaching, and how can it benefit me?
First executive coaching (which is a form of life coaching) is not therapy, counseling or mentoring. Coaching is a partnership between coach and client, to assist & guide the client whilst working through a particular challenge in one or more areas of life. Executive coaching gives special attention to areas such as leadership skills, strategic thinking, career advancement, enhanced decision-making, and increased self-awareness.
How is executive coaching different from therapy, consulting, or mentoring?
- Therapy focuses on addressing past emotional issues, looking back before moving forward. When treated by a medical expert it may involve diagnosis and medication in severe cases.
- Consulting provides expert advice, the work project is defined, designed and carried out by the consultant on your behalf.
- Mentoring is usually an expert (in your field or area of interest) who is ahead of you, and s/he will provide you with their shared experiences and knowledge to guide and elevate you to the desired result.
- Coaching is forward-looking, client-driven, focused on unlocking potential of the client by working in a partnership relationship.
What can I expect from a coaching engagement with you? What’s your coaching philosophy/approach?
- The initial consultation, also known as a discovery call, is complimentary and generally 45 mins in length. It allows us the opportunity to discuss the challenge you are facing and if it will be a good fit for us to work together and how we will do so.
- My coaching philosophy: Is results oriented and solution based, working from the principle that each individual is whole, complete and resourceful. Every person has the power within them to achieve their deepest desires. ‘Everything is within your power and the power is within you’ Janice Trachtman. We create the solution together and you achieve the results!
- My coaching approach: once we have decided to work together, My coaching process involves three phases (i) an initial assessment (focusing on self awareness, accountability and how to take action), (ii) goal setting and habit creation, and (iii) progress tracking ( refine or redefine where necessary) and creating competencies. The frequency of the sessions will be dependent on the progress made.
What kind of results can I expect, and how do you measure success?
- Success will be based on how we define that at the start of our sessions to ensure alignment, understanding and clarity on what it means to you. Typically it could look like a quantitative result such as a promotion, changing roles or making a career pivot. Qualitatively it may present with the feeling of increased confidence, improved work-life balance or feeling more empowered.
- At the start of each session we will track progress made, review and refine (if necessary) what you/we have defined as personal success metrics, to ensure that it is meeting your needs.
How long does a typical coaching engagement last?
One on one coaching is a partnership relationship and will depend on the individual goals set and the progress being made. However, the average timeframe is around 3-6 months. Whilst group based coaching and corporate workshops can be done on a project basis.
What are your fees, and what’s included in your coaching packages?
- Charges are based on the duration and needs of the client.
- Executive coaching one on one:
- Bronze (3 months): Know your problem,find your solution & implementation.
- Gold (6-8 Months): Career pivots, role transitions, team optimisation, promotions. Platinum package (10-12months): Career transformations, work-life balance, leadership empowerment.
- Session duration, frequency, communication and accountability will be defined in a contract at the start of the relationship, typically sessions occur every 2-3 weeks and lasts between 60-120mins.
What are your qualifications, certifications, and experience?
I have 15 years of corporate leadership experience, working with teams and all levels of leadership, across Europe, UK and Southern Africa. I hold both an LLB and an LLM (in advanced contracting). I hold a business school certification in social entrepreneurship and an internationally recognised life coaching certification from the Jay Shetty Certification School.
Is our coaching confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is paramount and our sessions are protected in accordance with the terms of the privacy policy, GDPR and contractual terms and conditions.
Who are your ideal clients? / What types of executives do you typically work with?
I coach leaders, whether you are up and coming, striving for a leadership position or already firmly established in your role. If you view yourself as a leader in your life, be it in senior role, executive in your own business or a C-suite position, we can work together.
How do I get started with you? Do you offer a discovery call?
As stated above the initial consultation / discovery call is free and allows us to start to get to know each other, understand the challenge you are facing and determine how we can work together. You will get a better understanding of my coaching approach before we can work together.
